This is an original press photo. A Telephone He Can Use -- Berlin, Germany: Guenther Schirmer, 32, World War II veteran who lost both hands and both eyes in a mine explosion, dials a telephone number on the device he helped the Siemens Telephone Company of Berlin to develop. The speaker-receiver is held in speaking position at all times, and numbers are dialed with aid of the levers on the box. Schirmer uses the device on his job as a West Berlin office clerk. Photo measures 7.25 x 9.25 inches. Photo is dated 08-19-1952.
