This is an original press photo. Two Colombian members of the United Nations Emergency Force man an observation post (top), while Canadians patrol in a scout car (bottom) in the Gaza Strip between Egypt and Israel. They are among troops from nine nations who were moved into the tension-torn strip a year ago after England, France and Israel halted their attack on Egypt. Today, because of the presence of the more than 5,000 UNEF troops, the strip is relatively calm. UNEF officers report the soldiers of the different nations work very well together. United Nations Police Force. Photo measures 7.25 x 9 inches. Photo is dated 03-12-1958.
