This is an original press photo. Hundreds of curious onlookers crowded the apron at Felts Field today to witness the re-enactment of Charles A. Lindbergh's visit to Spokane nearly 50 years ago. Lindy visited Spokane on Sept. 12, 1927, only four months after his triumphant trans-Atlantic flight. The Spirit of St. Louis replica which stopped here today is on a 102-city nationwide tour commemorating the 50th anniversary of the historic solo flight. Piloted by Capt. Vern Jobst, the plane touched down here at about 11 this morning and will remain on display until dark tonight, departing tomorrow for a flight to Seattle.Photo measures 9 x 6.75inches. Photo is dated 08-27-1977.
