This is an original press photo. U.S. DEFENSE INDUSTRY EMPLOYEE JONATHAN POLLARD IN SPY CASE
Jonathan Jay Pollard (born August 7, 1954, Galveston, Texas) worked as a civilian intelligence analyst before being convicted of spying for Israel. He received a life sentence in 1987.

Israel granted Pollard citizenship in 1995, but publicly denied that he was an Israeli spy until 1998.Israeli activist groups, as well as high-profile Israeli politicians, have lobbied for his release. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has voiced particularly strong support for Pollard, visiting the convicted spy in prison in 2002. His case was later linked to that of Ben-ami Kadish, another U.S. national who pleaded guilty to charges of passing classified information to Israel in the same period. He renounced his United States citizenship and is now solely an Israeli citizen. He will be deported to Israel in the event that he is released from prison.(WIKIPEDIA)Photo measures 10 x 8inches. Photo is dated 05-05-1989.
