This is an original press photo. Kiem Do, a local Vietnamese leader who organized sea evacuation of Saigon, is pictured in his Terry-Town home with his manuscript, and papers for a book he is now working on. As a South Vietnam navy captain, he organized the evacuation of about 30,000 people from Saigon by ships when the city fell to the North Vietnamese April 30, 1975. Now an engineer at Taft nuclear plant, well-settled in New Orleans area, his now writing. Do sits with his granddaughter Paulina Diem Do, 3-years -old. Photo measures 8 x 10 inches. Photo is dated 04-20-1992.
