This is an original press photo. Senator Henry Cabot Lodge of Massachusetts, 60, was attacked by a Pacifist in the corridors of the Senate. Lodge knocked his attacker down. Lodge "was an American Republican Senator and historian from Massachusetts. He had the role (but not the title) of Senate Majority leader. He is best known for his positions on foreign policy, especially his battle with President Woodrow Wilson in 1919 over the Treaty of Versailles. Lodge demanded Congressional control of declarations of war; Wilson refused and the United States Senate never ratified the Treaty nor joined the League of Nations." (Wikipedia) Photo measures 5.25 x 8.25inches. Photo is dated 04-04-1917.
