This is an original press photo. Arriving on the S.S. Homeric, Sir Alan Cobham recently knighted by King George for his 28,000 mile flight from London to Melbourne had his tiny D.H Moth seaplane lowered from the deck of the ship with the intention of flying it from Quarantine to the Battery . Rough waters in the harbor prevented this and he was towed into New York. Cobham and his plane being towed in the Battery with New York Skyline in backgroundPhoto measures 10 x 7.75inches.
