This is an original press photo. Adjutant General Raymond Fleming in command of Louisiana National Guard, who apparently defied a court order to disband his troops, which are guarding the Registrar of Voters office in New Orleans, where public opinion is directed against the political machine of Huey P Long, Senator and head of the organization. City officials stationed 100 special policemen at City Hall, directly across the street from where the National Guard is posted. Fleming said that he took orders from the Governor only. Photo measures 6 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 08-04-1934.
