This is an original press photo. Arriving at Laguardia Field on the initial East bound trip of the Transcontinental and Western Air's new coast to coast flight. "The Thunderbird," April 2, Chief Thundercloud and Princess Love full blooded Cherokee Indians, inducted New York City Docks Commissioner John McKenzie and Pilot Chick Fredericks into the Cherokee Tribe. The commissioner was given the Indian name Ah Te Tu Ne, meaning flying cloud and Fredericks, Ka-Tu-Po, signifying pilot of the air. They are (left to right) Pilot Fredericks, Chief Thundercloud, Princess Love and Commissioner McKezie. Photo measures 9 x 7.25 inches. Photo is dated 4-2-1940.
