This is an original press photo. Son of the "aces" in Eddie Rickenbacker's famed 94th Pursuit Squadron of World War I, Aviation Cadet John Morgan Kaye prepares to join Uncle Sam's aerial knights. The son of the late Captain Samuel Kaye Jr., receiving preliminary training at the Kelly Field Texas, Pilot Replacement Center, soon will be in primary school. Captain Kaye was accredited with eight enemy planes, received the Distinguished Service Cross, three other decorations. The cadet is from Columbus, Miss., the Army's Advanced Flying School at that city being named in honor of his father. Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches. Photo is dated 5-9-1942.
