This is an original press photo. This is the rescue ship that brought 20 men of the North Atlantic Wing of the Air Transport Command to safety after their C-87 plane was forced down in the wilds of Quebec on February 5th. The crew of the downed plane was rescued after 5 days, but pilots volunteered to remain bed=hind and bring the C-87 back to the US with them. The ship arrived at the US Army Airfield at Presque Isle safely on April 7th, fully two two months after the accident. The rescue ship, a C-49 was flown by Captain W. F.
