This is an original press photo. Lt. William Boughton of White Plains, New York, a P-47 fighter pilot has the distinction of being the first pilot to land his craft on the first airstrip constructed by the Allies i Normandy, France. While on a mission over France, his plane ran out of gas and he was forced to make use of the newly constructed field. Photo measures 7.75 x 6 inches. Photo is dated 6-15-1944.
