This is an original press photo. Two newsmen are pictured aboard one of the rescue planes which left Orly Field November 21 to drop needed supplies to the 12 American survivors of a crashed C-53 Transport in the Swiss Alps. Seated in foreground (left to right) are David Briggs, Reuter Correspondent; Captain R. L. Lovelace, US Army and Haynes Thompson, United Press. Mountain climbers reached the scene, November 23, where the Americans have been marooned for four days. Photo measures 8.75 x 7 inches. Photo is dated 11-23-1946.
