"Beyond the Forest" (1949) This is the movie quoted in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?," the one where Bette Davis wears a big black fright wig and says, "What a dump!" According to Pauline Kael, "There's not a sane, dull scene in this peerless piece of camp." Davis plays Rosa Moline, "a twelve o'clock girl in a nine o'clock town" who hates her life as the wife of dull doctor Joseph Cotten. In Bette's view, the "only decent person is the undertaker who takes you away." Photo measures 10 x 8inches. Photo is dated --1949.
