This is an original press photo. The new Boeing prototype Stratotanker, foreground, is hauled into place alongside a U.S. Air Force tanker-transport, the Boeing KC-97G Stratofreighter, at Renton, Washington. The Stratotanker jet will carry from 80 to 130 passengers in its airline version. The new aircraft will be used in tests to demonstrate its capabilities as a military tanker - transport and a high speed commercial airliner. Four Pratt & Whitney Aircraft JT3-L turbojet engines, each developing more than 10,000 pounds of thrust, will power the aircraft.
