This is an original press photo. C-H-A-R-G-E! US Army Troops dash from the newest and fastest troop carrier, the propjet C-130 Hercules, to set up a simulate advance combat base. In the Air Force Army tests, 92 fully equipped combat troops, 4 crew members and 8 observers flew aboard the Lockheed plane for 8 hours and 5 minutes before landing on an unimproved strip near Pope Air Force Base, N.C. The Tactical Air Command's transport is designed to haul 92 troops or 20 tons of cargo. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 8-13-1957.
