This is an original press photo. This bridge, which is held up by huge hollow blocks of concrete, is the world's largest permanent floating bridge. It spans Lake Washington at Seattle. Built 19 years ago, the bridge has carried 100,000,000 vehicles. Seattle's burgeoning population has created a need for two or three more bridges which will permit the city to expand to the east. Floating bridges will be built because they are less expensive to build across the deep water where they are needed. Photo measures 9 x 7inches. Photo is dated 05-10-1959.
