This is an original press photo. Kenneth Muxlow took 10 turns on the flap crank eased in the throttle and his plane sprinted down the east west strip at Flying Cloud airport. At 70 miles an hour he was airborne. Over Highway, 162-212 at the edge of the field, he had a full 500 feet of altitude while lesser planes were still straining for altitude. This was an ordinary take off for Muxlow, a maintenance man at the Ford parts depot on St. Anthony Boulevard but this was no ordinary plane. It was the first Cessna ever built, a C-34 Airmaster, serial No. 1 completed in Cessna's Wichita Kansas, Plant in 1934. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 6-7-1961.
