This is an original press photo. Berry High School students voted overwhelmingly to give away their winnings, a handsome color television set, from a recent school spirit contest. Berry placed highest among area high schools and the spirit rose higher when the Student Council suggested giving the prize TV set to some less fortunate group of young people. Boys Ranch was selected and Wednesday Jefferson County Chief Deputy Sheriff Raymond Belcher accepted the gift on behalf of Boys Ranch and its sponsoring sheriff's departments throughout the state. Making the presentation for the Berry High School student body were, from left, Wade Hanby, Barbara Waldrop, Jerry Byrd and Allan Chappelle. Photo measures 5.75 x 4 inches. Photo is dated 04-04-1968.
