This is an original press photo. Nobody said it would be a pretty job, this business of cleaning up after the last Ice Age. Six members of the Wisconsin Conservation Corporation in Calumet County, however, were determined to remove the mess that was dumped in a cave when a sloppy glacier passed through Wisconsin some 10,000 years ago. Edward Mueller, left, and crew leader Kent Spotts, members of the Wisconsin Conservation Corporation, lifted a bucket load of some of the 8 tons of dirt and gravel they have removed from Carolyn's Caverns, in Ledge View Park in Calumet County.Photo measures 10 x 8inches. Photo is dated 09-14-1986.
