This is an original press photo. A system of inflatable slides, capable of evacuating passengers and the crew of the 747 superjet in 90 seconds, is being tested in Seattle, Washington. Each jetliner will be equipped with escape slides plus ramps similar in construction to this. The slides were developed and produced for Boeing by a BF Goodrich Co division in Akron, Ohio. The slides, stowed in the air craft's doors, can be activated in seconds. Photo measures 5.75 x 9.25inches. Photo is dated 01-31-1989.
